BRTC Attends Manufacturing Showcase

Black River Technical College (BRTC) recently attended the 1st Annual Manufacturing Showcase in Little Rock, AR. Representing BRTC was Director of Student Career Readiness Shane Copeland, Executive Director of Workforce Training Priscilla Stillwell, Workforce Education development Coordinator Jody Callahan, and Dean of Business and Technical Education Phillip Dickson.

The showcase was hosted by Arkansas Manufacturing Solutions and the keynote speaker of the event was Harry Moser. Moser expressed the need for companies to bring manufacturing jobs back to the United States. Other focuses of the conference included supply chain management, artificial intelligence in manufacturing, and manufacturing career pathways.

Stillwell said it was a very informative conference and she enjoyed seeing partners of BRTC from area industries also attending the event.

BRTC works closely with local and state workforce development agencies and area economic development initiatives to serve the needs of businesses and industries within Clay, Greene, Lawrence, and Randolph counties in developing workforce programs which benefit the employers and employees. Workforce Training offers training in Pocahontas, Paragould, Piggott, and online. BRTC is proud to serves as the sole provider of education for the Greene County Industrial Training Council (GCITC).
