Black River Technical College’s (BRTC) Agriculture Technology class recently visited Legacy Equipment in Paragould.

During the visit, students attended an insightful presentation by Integrated Solutions Manager Matt Wright and Precision Ag Consultant Barkley Rowland. The duo spoke about the history of Legacy Equipment and the development of John Deere’s precision agriculture equipment. Their presentation also covered the current capabilities of John Deere’s precision equipment as well as future technologies.

Students were able to observe the equipment while being used in the field.

“The experience helped students have a better understanding of the concepts they have been learning in class,” said Agriculture Instructor Ronnie Hinson. Witnessing the application of theory in the real world provides a unique perspective. Overall, the visit to Legacy Equipment was an invaluable experience for the Agricultural Technology class. We appreciate the time and expertise shared by Matt Wright and Barkley Rowland.”
