BRTC Adds Anatomage Tables to Science Department

Black River Technical College (BRTC) recently purchased two Anatomage Science Tables.

The tables were purchased using grant funds and the two tables cost $201,680. Both the Pocahontas and Paragould BRTC science departments will use the Anatomage tables in their curriculum in the upcoming Fall semester.

The Anatomage Science Table 9 is a 3D system that will allow students to interact with four different digital cadavers. The Anatomage table is fully interactive, life-size with a touch screen experience which allows for exploration and learning of the human body.

The virtual table also includes cases studies, histology scans, and pro-sections. The table also features interactive dissections, blood flow simulation, virtual arthroscopy, and flythrough simulations, which will help enhance student learning.

The Anatomage Curriculum features an interface for instructors to integrate content into lectures and lab sections.

“The table is an excellent support tool to enhance instruction, improve student learning, allow students to be more effective in the lab, and help maintain the students interest. The benefits of the virtual table are it gives students the opportunity to explore in a virtual, realistic way,” said BRTC Science Instructor Lynda Griffin.
