Arkansas State Representative Shad Pierce Named Keynote Speaker for BRTC LETA Graduation

Black River Technical College’s (BRTC) Law Enforcement Training Academy (LETA) Director Jared Bassham is pleased to announce the guest speaker for the Fall 2023-B LETA graduation will be Arkansas State Representative Shad Pearce.

Pearce is serving his first term in the Arkansas House of Representatives where he represents District 40, which includes portions of Independence, Cleburne, and White Counties.

Pearce is the House Vice Chair for the House Rules Committee. He also serves on the House Judiciary, House Aging, Children and Youth, Legislative, and Military Affairs committees.

Pearce earned a bachelor’s degree in criminology from Arkansas State University. He is a retired captain from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and a BRTC LETA alumnus.

He enjoys going to church, spending time with family, and enjoying the great outdoors.

Pearce resides in Batesville with his wife, Tammy. The pair have two adult children, Taylor Cothern and Tye Pearce.

The BRTC LETA FAll 2023-B graduation will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 9 at the Randolph County Development Center on the BRTC Pocahontas campus. Graduation is open to the public and will be streamed live on LETA’s Facebook page.
