Administrative Assistant

Black River Technical College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant for the Office of the President and the Office of Institutional Advancement (IA).  This is a full-time, non-classified, 12-month position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Administrative Assistant reports to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement and the BRTC President.  This individual is responsible for greeting and assisting all guests of the President and IA as necessary; performing clerical work as necessary on behalf of the President and IA; managing the President’s and VPIA’s calendars as necessary; scheduling rentals and managing the calendar of RCDC; preparing materials and taking minutes for the Board of Trustees and BRTC Foundation Board meetings and needs; serve as the office manager for both offices including managing budgets and preparing purchase orders; collaborating and often leading campus-wide receptions; creating and working with special reports, documents, proposals, and other projects; assisting other IA office members; assisting in managing photography and video creation and management; assisting with Foundation activities including fundraising events and acknowledgments; directing and managing student workers; performing bookkeeping duties and assisting with BRTC Foundation accounts; and serving as a positive representative of the College to both internal and external contacts and guests.

SKILLS

Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Must be customer service-oriented, well-organized, and detail-oriented. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality and meet deadlines. Must be able to function well in a team environment, be self-motivated, work independently with little supervision, and possess critical thinking skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

The formal educational equivalent of a two-year degree. Other work-related experience may be substituted for all or part of this requirement or other work-related experience.
