Tate Manufacturing’s Divisional Technical Manager Tyler Smith recently toured many of Black River Technical College’s (BRTC) technical programs on the Pocahontas campus. Smith wanted to tour the facility and meet with the welding instructors to discuss the types of welding training and certifications BRTC teaches the students.
In addition to visiting the welding labs, Smith toured BRTC’s gunsmithing, machine tool, and electricity programs to get a better understanding of how area industries benefit from BRTC’s focus on hard tech training and how it leads to area jobs. BRTC plans to host Smith on the Paragould campus and the Piggott location in the near future. The second visit will allow Smith to meet with Paragould students as they go through a structural steel pipe welding course.
