Black River Technical College (BRTC) recently hosted a retirement reception for Welding Instructor Rickie Gunn for 11 years of service.

During the reception Gunn was presented with a plaque to honor his time and commitment to BRTC and his students. Gunn was also presented with a handcrafted hunting knife by a few close colleagues.

“He would do anything for his students,” Director of Career, Technical, and Concurrent Education Darenda Kersey said. “If a student needed clothes, shoes, gas money, you name it, Rickie would do whatever he could.”

Dean of Business and Technical Education Phillip Dickson and Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Brad Baine also spoke about Gunn and his dedication to his work at the reception.
