BRTC Holds Registered Nursing Graduation and Pinning Ceremony

Black River Technical College (BRTC) held its 2024 Registered Nursing graduation and pinning ceremony on Tuesday, December 17, in the Randolph County Development Center.

BRTC celebrated the graduation of 45 students who earned an Associate of Applied Science in Registered Nursing. Twenty-four students completed the program through the Tradition Registered Nursing (TRN) Pathway, and 21 students completed the program through the Licensed Practical Nursing-to-Registered Nursing (LPN-RN) Transitional Pathway.

The opening prayer was given by Jordan Vaughn, LPN-RN. The president of the TRN class was Emily Villa, and Kara Moore the president of the LPN-RN class. “Go Light Your World” was sung by Kathy Erazo, RN, BSN, and the final benediction was said by Annabella Burrow, TRN.

Nursing faculty also handed out awards at the ceremony. The awarded TRN students were Emily Villa, Highest Average in TRN Theory I and II; Tiffany Weese, Highest Average in TRN Theory III.

The awarded LPN-RN students were Laney Jordan, Highest Average in Nursing Process I; Jessica Manuel, Highest Average in Nursing Process II and III; Kimberly Banks, Most Improved in Nursing Practicum; Daniella Chilton, Perfect Attendance.

A nurse from each pathway was also presented with the Florence Nightingale Award. This award is given to the nurses who are “passionate and dedicated to the field of nursing and who exude excellence in the delivery of direct patient care.” The TRN recipient was Tiffany Weese, and the LPN-RN recipient was Laney Jordan.
