BRTC Paramedic Program Attends EMT Class Hosted by ProMed

Black River Technical College’s (BRTC) 2024-2025 Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) class was invited to a Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) class on Wednesday, December 4. The group was invited by John Plumley, North Arkansas Regional Manager of ProMed, to learn and participate alongside other ProMed employees.

The MCI class was taught by Chief Ken Bouvier, a seasoned paramedic known for his appearance on the TV show Nightwatch. The group learned about the importance of the Incident Command System (ICS) and how it is used during mass casualty incidents. They also learned essential skills like incident management, resource coordination, and leadership strategies.

The BRTC EMT class was accompanied by Brandon Johnson, paramedic program director at BRTC.
