Bradford and Kersey Graduate from ACC Leadership Institute

Black River Technical College’s (BRTC) Dana Bradford, corporate and community education coordinator and instructor, and Darenda Kersey, director of career, technical, and concurrent education, recently graduated from the Arkansas Community Colleges (ACC) Leadership Institute.

The ACC established their leadership program in 2008 and has served around 300 members. The institute provides training sessions that will allow participants to better themselves and the institutions they work for. Bradford and Kersey were two out of 24 participants in this year’s program.

“The leadership that Director Darenda Kersey provides for her students and programs is exceptional.  Director Kersey is well known for her ability to resolve issues and make pathways for students to be successful.  Under Director Kersey's leadership, the Career and Technical programs and concurrent courses have grown exponentially, while maintaining quality offerings,” said Dr. Brad Baine, vice president of student affairs.

“Her [Bradford] superpowers are customizing curriculum, finding the best instructors to teach the curriculum, and listening to the needs of our industry to develop courses that add value to the employee experience and the industry workforce. She is highly respected in industry circles and is often called upon to develop classes that are not found anywhere else,” said Priscilla Stillwell, executive director of workforce training.
