BRTC Hosts Business After Hours at Paragould Location

Black River Technical College (BRTC) hosted Paragould Regional Chamber of Commerce and area industry leaders Thursday at Business After Hours at the BRTC Paragould location.

Members from area businesses gathered to share ideas and hear about the exciting things happening at BRTC. Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Brad Baine and Executive Director of Paragould Operations Priscilla Stillwell welcomed guests and introduced the BRTC Deans.

Dean of General Studies Donna Statler spoke about general education and the perks of a BRTC education including one-on-one time with teachers and lower tuition. Dean of Business and Technical Education Phillip Dickson spoke about business and technical programs as well as gunsmithing. BRTC is one of only 10 schools in the nation that offer gunsmithing programs. Dean of Nursing and Allied Health Jason Linam spoke about BRTC nursing programs and said, “our Practical Nursing program is first in the state.”

Career and Technical Education Center Director Darenda Kersey spoke about BRTC CTC programs and the industry links it creates. Law Enforcement Training Academy Director spoke about the academy and BRTC ties with Greene County and Paragould Police Department through first-class instruction and training.

The evening concluded with  networking and a tour of the BRTC Paragould location facilities. Stillwell ended the evening saying,” We put people to work.”
