BRTC’s Outstanding Staff 2021

Ron Patterson

PARAGOULD, AR Oct. 13— Ron Patterson, BRTC’s 2021 Outstanding Staff, joined the Black River Technical College team in August 2012 as a mathematics tutor and adjunct mathematics instructor.  Ron had retired from Poplar Bluff, Missouri High School as a secondary mathematics teacher after thirty-one years.

In Spring, 2014, Ron stepped in to fill a temporary leave position as an Academic Advisor, later acquiring the position full-time.  Ron accepted the Associate Director of Student Affairs-Paragould campus position during the Summer of 2019 and is currently serving in this capacity.

Ron is a 1977 graduate of Poplar Bluff High School.  He graduated with an Associate of Arts degree from Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, MO in 1979 and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Southeast Missouri State University in 1981 followed by a Master of Arts in Educational Administration in 1997.

Ron and his wife Wanda reside in Corning, AR, and have two daughters, Christina (Bill) Swint and Angela (Shane) Duncan.  They enjoy spending time with their five wonderful grandchildren.
