POCAHONTAS, AR Mar. 10 2021 – Black River Technical College’s Corporate and Community Education Department has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with RL Transport, LLC, and Encore Capital, LLC.

RL Transport and Encore Capital have agreed to lease a truck and trailer to BRTC’s CDL Program for $1.00 annually. BRTC is appreciative for this generous donation which will allow the college to train more CDL students. Dr. Brad Baine, Vice President for Academics states, “BRTC is very grateful for this newly developed partnership with RL Transport.  The support and resources that RL Transport is providing for the students in the BRTC CDL program will be instrumental in allowing the individuals enrolled in the CDL program to receive the highest quality training in this essential profession.”

RL Transport employees are pleased with this newly formed partnership as well. Madison Huhn, Driver Recruiter for RL Transport claims, “Everyone here at RL Transport is excited to work with the students from BRTC’s CDL program. We are grateful to have the opportunity to further aid the education of future CDL drivers. These students are the future of the driving economy and we are thrilled we get to be a part of their journey.”

BRTC and RL Transport have the common goal of meeting the needs of the rapidly growing trucking industry. As Leah Thompson, RL Transport Safety Director puts it, “RL Transport is excited to partner with BRTC.  We believe it is imperative to support the work they are doing in educating and producing well skilled driving professionals.  Without BRTC and others like them, our industry would not survive.” Director Tom Bean adds, “RL transport is thrilled to have joined teams with BRTC. They are an essential part of training and developing the backbone of our trucking industry which are the drivers. We couldn’t have found a better partner than BRTC and we look forward to working with them in the future to put safe and reliable drivers in the seat of a truck.”
