Black River Technical College’s Dean of Nursing & Allied Health Serves Her State and Local Community

Ramonda Housh, BRTC’s Dean of Nursing & Allied Health

POCAHONTAS, AR Feb. 24 –BRTC’s Dean of Nursing & Allied Health, Ramonda Housh, has been serving the state of Arkansas and her local community since becoming part of the BRTC team in 2004.

She is currently serving on the Arkansas State Board of Nursing (ASBN). She was originally appointed by Governor Beebe in 2013 and reappointed twice by Governor Hutchinson. Her appointment will end in October of 2023.

Dean Housh served as the ASBN President 2015-2019 and serves on the ASBN Finance, Prescriptive Authority, Scholarship and ArNAP Committees, and have served as the Chair of the Education Committee since October of 2019. She is a member of the Nurse Administrators of Nursing Education Programs in Arkansas, serving as PN Council Chair from 2008-2012.

In addition, she serves her local community as a member of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Committee-Randolph County, the Arkansas Health Workforce Stakeholders Committee, and the Randolph County Disaster Preparedness Task Force, which has been involved in setting up camps and healthcare services for Hurricane Katrina victims, flood relief, and community preparedness for the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dean Housh maintains professional certification through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) as a Board Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and is a member of the American Nurses Association, Arkansas Nurses Association, Arkansas Center for Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau, Gamma Xi Chapter, and a Fellow of the National Association of Pediatric Nurses and Practitioners.

In addition, the relationship between ASBN and the National Council of State Boards of Nursing provides insight to the ever-changing practice of nursing and upcoming changes to the NCLEX examination, that benefits our faculty and students,\” states Housh.
