Join us for a hands-on, creative workshop where you'll learn the art of quilting while making a practical, beautiful pot holder or hot pad! This class is perfect for beginners and those looking to refine their quilting skills. You’ll be guided step-by-step through the process of creating a functional, insulated pot holder, all while learning key quilting techniques and tips.
In this class, you will:
- Christmas pattern fabric (color may vary), prepare fabric, and learn the basics of fabric cutting, piecing, and pressing.
- Learn quilt sandwiching: We’ll show you how to layer fabric, batting, and backing to create a sturdy, heat-resistant pot holder.
- Master basic quilting techniques.
- Add finishing touches: We’ll teach you how to bind the edges of your pot holder, giving it a neat, professional look.
- Step-by-step guidance from an experienced instructor.
- Create two potholders.
- All necessary materials are included. ( You will need to bring your sewing machine. Also 1/4" Sewing Foot and /or walking foot, optional)
- Basic Sewing Skills are required.

Serendipity meets one Friday of the month to discuss contemporary books, including works of fiction, non-fiction, memoirs, and biographies dealing with timeless issues and themes. Books selected for Serendipity are designed to focus on diverse people, places, cultures, and ideas, and to stimulate awareness of shared aspects of the human condition.
