Senator James Sturch to Speak at BRTC Commencement

\"\"Apr. 27 – Black River Technical College is pleased to announce the guest speaker for the Spring 2019 Commencement to be held May 16 will be Arkansas Senator James Sturch.

Senator Sturch is a native of Independence County.  He earned his Bachelor of Science in Political Science with secondary education certification from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. At UALR, he was a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha honor society. In 2015, he earned his Master of Public Administration degree also from UALR.

Senator Sturch was elected to the Arkansas state Senate in November 2018 and represents District 19 of which BRTC resides.  He is vice-chair of the Senate Rules, Resolutions and Memorials Committee and a member of the Senate Education Committee and the Senate Agriculture, Forestry and Economic Development Committee.

The commencement ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Randolph County Development Center on the Pocahontas campus.  Guests of the graduates and members of the community are invited to attend commencement.
