Disaster Preparedness for Small Businesses

Is your business prepared to cope with a catastrophe?  Do you know what resources are available to your community after a disaster?  If you own a business, it is crucial to have a disaster plan in place!  The Corporate & Community Education Department of Black River Technical College is offering Disaster Preparedness for Small Businesses, conducted by the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC).  This seminar will provide you with the background information and basic planning tools to increase the survivability of your business.  Learn about local hazards, how to prepare for future disasters, and most importantly, what assistance will be available following a major disaster.  This seminar, in partnership with Winrock International and the Arkansas Women’s Business Center, is being offered at no charge due to a grant received from the United States Department of Agriculture.  Lunch will be provided.  Disaster Preparedness for Small Businesses will be held at Black River Technical College, Pocahontas campus, on Thursday, August 20, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  Seating is limited and pre-registration is required by Tuesday, August 18.  To register, call 870-972-3517, or visit the ASBTDC training calendar online at asbtdc.org.  For additional information:  Call (870) 248-4180, e-mail zebulon.blansett@blackrivertech.edu.
