Concurrent Challenge Scholarship at BRTC Offers High School Students 24 Credits for Free

POCAHONTAS, AR  June 10, 2019  – Black River Technical College is excited to invite high school students to enroll in concurrent courses which may now be covered by the new Arkansas Concurrent Challenge Scholarship.

This past spring, Act 456, also known as the Arkansas Concurrent Challenge Scholarship act, passed which created the Arkansas Concurrent Challenge Scholarship.  The act, co-sponsored by Sen. James Sturch (R-19), will use excess Arkansas Lottery proceeds to fund the scholarship.

The Arkansas Concurrent Challenge Scholarship will award eligible high school students $125 per credit course for up to 2 concurrent credit courses per semester.  BRTC is one of the 2-year and 4-year public and private, nonprofit Arkansas colleges and universities eligible to offer the scholarship.
