Collins Appointed to the Board of Trustees

Carolyn Collins of Paragould has been appointed by Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson to a 7 year term on the Board of Trustees at Black River Technical College.

“I am honored to have been appointed by Governor Asa Hutchinson to serve on the Board of Trustees,“  Collins said.  “I look forward to contributing my professional experiences and will do everything I can to help drive the BRTC mission and vision forward.”

Collins grew up in Reyno and lived in Randolph County until five years ago when she and her husband Phil moved to Paragould full time in order to live near their two granddaughters.

Before retiring, Collins worked at BRTC for 23 ½ years.  She was a business instructor, Technical Education Division Chair, Director of Financial Aid, Coordinator of Student Services on the Paragould Campus and Interim Vice President of Student Services.  She worked 18 1/2 years teaching business in the public schools as well.

“Carolyn brings a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience to the Board of Trustees,” said President Dr. Eric Turner.  “We are fortunate she graciously agreed to serve.  Her genuine interest BRTC’s success will be an asset to our college and we are pleased to be working with her.”

Collins holds a BSE in Business Education, an MSE in Business Education, and Specialist in Community College Teaching degree, all from Arkansas State University.
