BRTC’s Practical Nursing III Class Brings Awareness to Cancer

Dec. 14 — Throughout the fall semester Nursing III students in Black River Technical College’s practical nursing program helped raise cancer awareness by wearing scrubs in colors that symbolize specific cancers.

Students wore pink scrubs while learning about women’s health issues to remember breast cancer. They wore teal scrubs to symbolize ovarian cancer. During their pediatric lecture, they wore gold to support childhood cancer.

While raising awareness may not cure cancer, it can help boost early diagnosis, reduce deaths, and help find a cure.
