BRTC\’s Officer Dillion Earns Bachelor’s Degree

POCAHONTAS, AR  Sep. 12, 2019 – Dane Dillion, public safety officer at Black River Technical College, earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith in Spring 2019.

“The relationship between BRTC and UAFS was so good that I was able to plan my schedule around my job and family,” said Dillion.  “I never had to step foot on [Fort Smith’s] campus.”

Dillion has worked hard to advance his academic career. Through BRTC Dillion has earned a Certificate of Proficiency in Criminal Justice in Fall 2011,  an Associate of Arts in Fall 2012, and his Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice and an Associate of Applied Science in Law Enforcement Administration in Fall 2016.

Dillion credits BRTC with the success of his academic career. He had planned to advance his career even further, and with the help of Amy Plaster, instructor of criminal justice at BRTC, was able to earn his bachelor from UAFS.

“All of my credits from BRTC transferred to UAFS,” said Dillion, “which allowed me to start my third year at UAFS.”

Dillion plans to start his master’s degree in either law enforcement or homeland security.
