BRTC’s Auto Collision Class Welcome a Guest Speaker

Scott Baxter of PPG Paints

POCAHONTAS, AR Feb. 18— Scott Baxter, the regional representative for PPG Paints visited Black River Technical College’s Auto Collision class on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. Baxter was accompanied by Kevin Mulligan of Route 66 Supply of Kennett, MO.

During his presentation, Baxter discussed how to use the new Envirobase High Performance Waterborne paint system that is becoming more common in a large percentage of collision centers.  BRTC\’s collision training center already teaches the Waterborne system; however, he was able to provide updated information on the proper viscosity, reduction of color, and use of clear coats, as well as the blend methods that should be used when spraying Envirobase paints. The information shared will be very helpful to the students in the program.

Baxter plans to return in the near future and provide training on the newly developed waterborne primer and the operation of the color scanner used in selecting the proper color for a perfect paint match.
