BRTC to Hold Child Abuse Awareness Event

Black River Technical College (BRTC) will host a child abuse awareness event at noon on Thursday, April 25 in the BRTC Administration building lobby. The event is free and open to the public.

The event will include guest speakers from BRTC Law Enforcement Training Academy Director Jared Bassham, NEA Children’s Advocacy Center Executive Director Shawnie Wilson, and Program Coordinator Brooke O’Neill, and a child abuse survivor.

Refreshments, information, and opportunities to help will be available.

In conjunction with the event, Phi Theta Kappa and the Student Government Association, are hosting a donation drive for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) which supports foster families. Donations of stuffed animals, child-size luggage/duffle bags, blankets, and sheets can be dropped off in the Finance and Administration office, AD 101, on the Pocahontas campus, and in the Math Center, room 111, on the Paragould campus.
