BRTC Receives Motor Vehicle Commission Grant

Black River Technical College (BRTC) received a grant from the Motor Vehicle Commission which will benefit both the Automotive Service Technology and the Automotive Collision Repair Technology programs.

The Motor Vehicle Commission awarded almost $150,000 in fund to grant recipients for the newly created Education & Training Grant Program on Wednesday, June 1 in the Governor\’s Conference Room at the State Capitol.  The purpose of the Education & Training Grant Program is to provide funds to assist institutions that offer education and training in vehicle service and maintenance.  Twelve secondary and post-secondary institutions were recipients.

BRTC received $11,000 and will go toward the purchase of equipment that will allow these programs to continue to be on the cutting edge of automotive technology.  Automotive Service Technology requested funds to establish a road force balancing diagnostic training.  Automotive Collision Repair Technology requested funds to implement and deploy aluminum body repair training for auto repair technicians.
