BRTC Project REACH Homecoming Date Announced

May 6 – Black River Technical College will hold a Project REACH Homecoming and tour event on Saturday, May 11 from 9 – 2 at the REACH sites in Dalton.  The public is invited to attend and the event is free of charge, with food provided on-site.

Living historians Randall and Kristyn Watts will display the Looney Tavern as the 1800’s era and perform militia and fire musket drills. Mick Haven will demonstrate candle making and historic cooking at the Rice-Upshaw House. Local author Pat Blake will perform a reading from her novels The Shiloh Series, a series based in historic Arkansas era. The Metro City Singers will perform at the Rice Upshaw House at 2:00 p.m. Games and farm animals will be setup at the Rice Upshaw House for a fun filled day in Dalton.

On May 10, donors who contributed to cabinets which will house Project REACH artifacts will have the opportunity to view the cabinets.  The cabinets, located in the BRTC library, will be available to the public beginning Monday, May 13.
