BRTC Offers High School Students the Education for a Career Immediately After School

\"\"POCAHONTAS, AR  June 10, 2019  – Black River Technical College’s Technical Opportunities and Pathways for Secondary Students (TOPSS) is a free program which enables high school juniors and seniors to get a head start on a career after high school.

Students can graduate with their high school diploma as well as with a BRTC degree, ready to go right into the workforce.  Applications for the 2019-20 school year are now being accepted.

Juniors and seniors at participating high schools are eligible to apply for the program which offers pathways in allied health (CNA and phlebotomy), welding, industrial electricity, and machine tool.  Participating schools include Corning, Hoxie, Marmaduke, Maynard, Pocahontas, Rector, Sloan Hendrix, and Walnut Ridge.

This program is funded by Arkansas Career Education.
