PARAGOULD, AR. Oct. 6. –  On Friday, September 11, 2020, BRTC Paragould hosted Leadership Paragould Class XXIV.

BRTC provided breakfast for the class, and Priscilla Stillwell, Executive Director of Paragould Operations, spoke about the programs and degrees offered at Black River Technical College while Alan Decker, Director of Corporate and Community Education, discussed the training offered through the Corporate and Community education department. After Stillwell and Decker addressed the class, the group received a surprise visit from Stryker, BTRC’s new mascot.

Jim Corter, owner and CEO of Corter Consulting, was the keynote speaker. Corter discussed the Personality DISC Assessment each person had completed previously. He pointed out that good leaders read the personality of others and adapt to their preferred communication style. Corter stressed that “wisdom is knowing when” and stated that motto “has served me well; I just need to keep improving knowing when.”

The Leadership Paragould committee invited Jana Burnett, Executive Director of Mission Outreach located in Paragould, to speak to the class. She discussed the services the mission provides and also shared some needs of the mission.
