BRTC CTC Students Attend Be Pro Be Proud Draft Day 2024

Black River Technical College (BRTC) Career and Technical Center (CTC) students attended the Be Pro Be Proud Draft Day at Nettleton High School recently.

Draft Day brings graduating seniors together with companies looking for new talent.

Thirty-four seniors had the opportunity to interview with multiple companies including Hytrol, Nucor, TrinityRail, Riggs-Cat Equipment, Greenbrier, Best Manufacturing, Riceland, United Cerebral Palsy of Arkansas, and St. Bernard’s Medical Center.

Students were matched with a minimum of three interviews each based on the results of their individual YouScience aptitude assessment.

“The students had been preparing for this event for months by first completing a YouScience assessment to assess their aptitudes and interests, preparing a resume, and learning how to properly interview for a job,” said Director of Career, Technical, and Concurrent Education Darenda Kersey. “Several of the students have had a call back for a second interview and at least one has been offered and accepted a job with Riggs-Catt.”
