BRTC CTC Hosts BRTC Dietetics Instructor as Guest Speaker

BRTC Dietetics Instructor Christina Derbes presents “Work Smarter, Not Harder” session to BRTC CTC students

Black River Technical College (BRTC) Career and Technical Center (CTC) recently hosted BRTC Dietetics Instructor Christina Derbes as a guest speaker.

Derbes presented “Work Smarter, Not Harder” to the BRTC CTC pre-nursing students. Topics discussed during the session were effective time management, active learning, utilizing resources, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

“Overall Work Smarter, Not Harder encourages students to approach studying strategically, focusing on techniques that optimize learning and retention while also maintaining a balance in their lives,” said Derbes.

Students in the CTC pre-nursing class are currently enrolled in prerequisite courses for the BRTC RN program. To get into the RN program students must take the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS). Derbes’ session was the first session in a TEAS preparatory workshop.
