POCAHONTAS, AR November 1, 2019 – For the Fall 2019 semester, 23 practical nursing students were
awarded $4,600 in BRTC Leave a Legacy scholarships.

In May 2015, the graduating practical nursing (PN) class realized the financial hardship many PN
students faced during the last semester of the nursing program. They decided to create the Leave a
Legacy Scholarship to help future PN students in their last semester. This scholarship helps students pay
for fees associated with the Arkansas State Board of Nursing licensure. Each graduating class has
continued the legacy through fundraising activities.
