The Merle R. Young Scholarship has been awarded to Shila Dale of Doniphan, MO, for the summer of 2018. This Scholarship is a memorial for the late Merle R. Young and awards $500 to a Black River Technical College Registered Nursing student.

Dale is the daughter of Lynn and Becky March and the late Barbara March. She and her husband Jeff have three daughters; Khyla, Jad, and Kyndal. She graduated from Doniphan High School in 1999 and is currently working towards an Associate of Applied Science degree in Registered Nursing.
