BRTC Alumni, Student, and Employees Honored at Arkansas Conference

Last spring, BRTC faculty and staff choose an individual to be named the BRTC Outstanding Faculty member and a staff member to be the BRTC Outstanding Staff.  Individuals whose peers feel have performed exemplary are selected.  In addition, BRTC faculty and staff choose an outstanding alumni member and outstanding current student based upon the same criteria.  These individuals were further honored at the annual Arkansas Community College conference held in Little Rock.

BRTC’s Outstanding Faculty is Sissy Gray of Williford, Dean of Assessment & Accreditation.  Sissy has was a BRTC psychology instructor for five years.  In 2013, she was also awarded the PLC Students’ Choice Award for Outstanding Faculty.

BRTC’s Outstanding Staff is Amber Green of Pocahontas, Human Resources Assistant.  Amber was chosen because she “is always pleasant, even in the most difficult situation.”

BRTC’s Outstanding Alumni is Ben Runnels of Fayetteville.  Ben is U.S. Marshal with the U.S. Marshals Service.  He graduated from BRTC in 2012 with an Associate of Applied Science in Law Enforcement.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a master’s in Public Administration from Arkansas State University.  He was the Blood Alcohol Testing instructor in 2011 and then became a BRTC Law Enforcement Training Academy instructor in 2015.

The BRTC Academic All-Star is Christie Emery Duke of Pocahontas.  Christie will graduate in December with an Associate of Science. After graduation, her credits will transfer to the Univeristy of Central Arkansas where she will study more indepth about addiction while working on a Bachelor of Science in Addiction Studies. Her goal is to eventually to become a Clinical Psychologist.
