BRTC Adult Education Faculty and Staff Attend Regional Training

POCAHONTAS, AR  Jan. 17 — On Thursday, January 9, the BRTC Adult Education full-time faculty and staff from both BRTC Pocahontas and BRTC Paragould attended the Northeast Arkansas Regional Training on Thursday at UACCB in Batesville.  Those attending were Sheila Baltz, Joan Eveland, Linda Lee, Tammie Lemmons, Cindy Robinett, Elizabeth Thompson, and Jean Wilson.

The day-long program included several speakers reporting on a variety of issues and ideas to help make adult education programs better than ever. WIOA partnering, strategies and challenges, SNAP E&T, assessment and much more were discussed.

BRTC Adult Education instructor Cindy Robinett presented an overview of a teaching strategy she incorporates using music and song lyrics which involve historical or social events and eras, followed by discussion questions. The song she played for the group to illustrate the strategy was Steve Earle\’s “Copperhead Road.”
