Alumni Spotlight: Jonathan Powell

Jonathan Powell is a 20-year-old BRTC graduate from Melbourne, AR.  Jonathan\’s journey to BRTC was very unique. He earned his pilot\’s license at the young age of 16 and flew his airplane to the Pocahontas campus for machine tool classes.

Jonathan also created his own business, Powell Precision Gunworks, where he builds custom long-range guns and repairs guns. He won the International Benchrest 600 yard shooting match last fall in St. Louis, MO, with one of his custom-built guns.

Jonathan received a degree in Machine Tool Technology from BRTC in Spring 2018  and some of his work is pictured. Using a CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machine, he spiral fluted bolts for his guns.
