BRTC Respiratory Care students attended the 50th annual state meeting of the Arkansas Society for Respiratory Care (ASRC) in Little Rock. BRTC has sent students to this conference for more than 15 years.
Students were able to network with their counterparts from other institutions and were involved in several educational meetings and activities. One of the most important reasons students attend the conference is so they can gain a perspective beyond their normal one in Northeast Arkansas. Conferences such as this also helps students realize the wide variety of opportunities available to them.
“It’s a great opportunity for students to network with other respiratory care students from across the state,” said Dean of Nursing and Allied Health Jason Linam. “It also allows students the opportunity to stay up-to-date with the latest equipment and practices in the field of respiratory care.”
Students always enjoy attending this conference. Not only do they meet other students across the state, but they are exposed to new technologies they have only just read about or seen virtually. Students also always learn a lot from the experienced therapists and pulmonary physicians who present at the event.
