Black River Technical College Corporate and Community Education department recently hosted VEX IQ Robotics Camp.
Eleven, sixth and seventh graders learned how to build the VEX Clawbot, code, and program it. Students competed in individual and team robotics competitions.
Winners of the team event were Team ‘Griddy Boys’ – Jack Davis and Jaxon Johnson, 1st with a score of 35; Team ‘Optimus Prime II’ – Caydenn Sum and Gunner Croney, 2nd with a score of 30; Team ‘Codes’ – August French and Isabella Wellborn, 3rd with a score of 28.
Winners of the individual event were Gunner Croney, 1st with a score of 48; Caydenn Sum, 2nd with a score of 45; Jaxon Johnson, 3rd with a score of 40.
Winners of the programming team event were Team ‘Magic Robot’ – Garret Dickson and Bella Harwell, 1st; Team ‘The Gears’ – Kinley Hoose and John-William Clark, 2nd; Team ‘Codes’ – August French and Isabella Wellborn.
